One of us is lying is my first read this year.It also happens to be the book that i have taken a long time(2weeks) to complete.It has helped take me out of my block and i am super happy and grateful.

My good friend,Mukami lend me this book.Thank you ,girl.

I love the cover and the general aesthetics of the book.I love sprayed edges.I would purposely by a book for the mere reason that it has sprayed edges.I don't have the right words to describe my love for sprayed edges.

One of us is lying is a mystery teenage school drama about four students who become murder suspects after another student dies while in detention.Five student go to detention.One dies.Nate Macauley,Adelaide Prentiss (Addy),Bronwyn Rojas and Cooper Clay become suspects when Simon Kelleher dies while in detention.

Simon Kelleher,the creator of About That,a gossip app at Bayview High dies while in detention and the four quickly become suspects because 1.They are with him during detention and 2.They all seem to have motive since Simon had unpublished articles containing secrets about them at the time of his death.The investigators conclude it's no accident.

Nate is the school's drug dealer,Bronwyn is on her way to Ivy League,Addy is the prom queen and Cooper is a sports star and they all have secrets that they don't wish to be revealed and more especially not by Simon.They become the murder club.

The book takes us on such a rollacoster ride where everyone seems to be a real culprit.The story is beautifully told that you are convinced that one of them is the perpetrator and so looking or thinking outside the box seems far fetched.

The twists and turns that take place in the book keep you anxiously at bay.You will be on edge while reading this story.I especially love the friendship bond that is formed by the four as they navigate the situation they find themselves in.

Bronwyn has to be my favorite character.She's smart,loving and caring.She doesn't easily give up and i think that's one of the reasons the truth was eventually discovered.She's not your typical geek.

The story is a page turner and easily flows.It is beautifully narrated and a fast read.The writer has you looped in from beginning to end.You've got to give it to Karen M.Mcmanus for how she has mastered the art of stringing along in this book.

If you are looking for the next read,I would highly recommend the book.For the mystery/suspense ,young adult genre lovers, here's a book I know you'll enjoy.

One of us is lying has been adapted into a series,you can binge on that.There is also a sequel,One of us is next.
